      • Add multi-state payroll (where employer must withhold in two or more states for one employee)

Support multi-state payroll where you must withhold in two or more states for the same employee in the same period, as they are subject to taxation in more than one state.
This happens when an employee lives in and works in two different states, the company has a 'Nexis' in those states, and there is no reciprocal agreement between signed by the employee, or none exists between the states.

        • Vacation tracking by days for salaried employees (not hours)

I am the bookkeeper for a church. The pastor is allotted 14 days vacation per year. Since clergy do not work a straight 40 hour week, I cannot accurately track his vacation time on an hourly basis. I need to have the option to track vacation by hours for hourly employees, and by days for salaried employees.

We’d like your feedback on this.

We are not sure how this would work because these reports show rows/sections by paycheck. If the paycheck includes more than one class (this is an option), then what to do?

Perhaps, if we ordered the report by the class field on the employee then that would work.

Comments? How would you like it to work?

            • QB should make prior year tax forms W-2, 941, 940 and amended 941x available

Presently QuickBooks only maintains current year forms. (1) Carry prior year forms, (2) add form 941c and amended W-2 forms / options.

We’d like your feedback on this one.

If you’re interested in this idea, please let us know why you want to access last year’s forms by adding a comment here.

Note there are issues with this idea in that if you have already created the forms back when they were due, then numbers you’d get today might not match what you did originally.

Also, note that QuickBooks does provide the ability to print forms to a PDF file when you create them. If you keep those files as they’re created then you will have access to a history of the forms printed/filed.

We’d like your feedback on this. Is the need to duplicate the Payroll Summary report exactly? Or, to include a version of it that is different?

About the same data is available in other reports within the Client Ready Reports. If not, what does the summary report show that you’d like to see in the Client Ready Reports?

                • Allow to create Contribution items and Tax item which calculates based on selected compensation item

Facility to create Contribution items and Tax item which calculates based on selected compensation items since some compensation or earnings may not be taxable or may not be a part of base value to calculate employee/company contributions.
So pls give provide the option to select on what compansation/earnings items to be used for such contribution or taxes.
Eg- Overtime is not a part of the basis for contributions in some countries.. so on

                  pls do this modification.

                  Gud luck

                  • More "Custom Fields" or a HR /database page for employee info i.e. insurance selections etc.

I use QB payroll as my database and use custom fields to hold additional info such as tickler dates for rate increases, insurance selections, position/titles. I would like more custom fields or even a HR page similar to vacation/sick time which have fields for insurance elections, job title, job rank, etc.

                    • Time should include the Workers Comp Code when importing

Currently when importing time data from our time clock, we have to manually edit each time record to add the workers comp code. I need a way to include the Workers Comp Code as part of our import.

                      • Allow global changing of Payroll Earnings items' rates for scale wage increases

It would be so much simpler if I could change globaly all of the payroll (wage) rates at the beginning of the year to accomodate raises, instead of manully changing every single employee's file - I have over 800 employees. It's possible to do this with deductions and company liabilities, why not wages?

                        • Support e-file for Oklahoma unemployment

The OESC supports NAWSA format, which is (according to them) the same format used for 941 efile. OK unemployment reports are required to be filed electronically, and the lack of support in QB means the data needs to be manually rekeyed into the online system.

                            • Online Payroll: Condense the payroll summary report

The payroll summary in online payroll prints on too many pages, and you have to print a separate report for totals. The report needs to be printed in landscape orientation and in table format so that multiple employess are listed in columns on each page with the paycheck item detail on the left side of the page only. The totals should print at the end of the employee payroll summary report. This format is available in quickpayroll (which is unfortunately not supported on VISTA) and is much more convenient with a lot less wasted paper.

                              • Support both 941 & 943 tax returns & payments in the same company for the same period

When having different types of employees that require 941 and 943, it would be great to be able to assign them the correct tax return and therefore apply all fed/fica/medi to the appropriate tax return

                                • Put employees in 2 or more pay schedules

We have a weekly payroll, of which everyone gets paid. Then monthly we pay commissions to the sales personnel. I have to change the employee, then process the rest of the checks. If I get busy I forget to change them back so the following week they don't show up and don't get paid. Maybe on the paychecks screen we could choose which employees we want to pay for the schedule??

                                    • Allow user to select which payroll items accrue vacation time.

I noticed in the Canadian version the user selects which payroll items accrue vacation time, where in the U.S. version it automatically accrues vacation on all hourly wage items. I would prefer the greater flexibility offered to the Canadians that let's the user select which items will accrue vacation time.

                                      • Payroll Child Support Garnishment Deduction Upper Limit by Percentage

Allow the upper limit of a garnishment be set as a Percentage of net pay.

Desktop currently only allows an upper limit set by a specific dollar amount when setting up a garnishment. Child Support, however, is a set percentage limit.

I.E. Withhold 400 per check but not more than 50% of the check. I.E. if the net check is $500, it will only withhold $250 for garnishment, but if the net check is 900 it will withhold 400. This feature is already implemented in QuickBooks Online and transitioning to desktop where this is not available is frustrating.

                                        • Online payroll should allow for class or department tracking and allow an employee more than one

Online payroll needs to have class tracking like the desktop version and have multiple classes per check.
