How can we improve Intuit Practice Management?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. View adjusted amount in client tab from WIP

    WIP should not be lost month to month. It should be viewable no matter what period. Once WIP is lost in a month it should carry foward to other months to be billed at a later date.

  2. Status dates for engagement screen and reports

    Would like to have interim dates for each engagement (Assigned, Reviewed, Complete) to see the date of each step and when it was done.

  3. To add a to do list

    I think it would be a great idea to add a to do list, in other words when I enter a task with no due date it should be added to a special list.

  4. Option for Staff Preparer on Lacerte Engagements

    In a Lacerte Engagement There is a place for preparer but for out firm that is more of a signer. In Lacerte itself there is a place for Staff Preparer who actually did the work. It would be nice to have that option in PPM to reflect this.

  6. Firm Engagement screen stage totals

    Would like to be able to see all the engagements in a specific stage not just by engagement type.

  7. Engagement Name / List

    Engagement titles should be able to be saved so we are able to pick it from a drop down menu instead of retyping it. When printing engagement list, the list should be able to sort by engagement name. For example, if I create an engagement called 2010 Individual tax return all clients with this engagement name should be listed on the engagement list.

  9. Selling Prac Mgmt Features

    Our firm will only use the engagement, user dashboard, and form dashboard. We will not be using the time and billing so I hope Intuit will sell Practice Mgmt based off what clients want. If a firm wants to use everything, charge them full price. If another only wants one feature, charge them less. Thanks!

  10. Offer pricing that a small firm/sole proprietor can afford!

    I need a due date program and it would be nice if it tied in to Lacerte. I use Time/Billing in QuickBooks (still Intuit product) and don't need that feature. It would be nice to have all my client info-name, address, phone, emails, etc in one place instead of having to update Lacerte, QuickBooks, Outlook all separately. I can't keep up!! And don't have time since I'm a sole proprietor.

  11. Sync the assigned staff in PMM with the preparers in Lacerte.

    Now you have to manually assign each staff preparer to each engagement, one at a time. It would be helpful if they were linked with the staff preparers listed for each client in Lacerte.

    We have our time tracking set to record 1/10 of an hour increments, but when using the timer function it records the actual time through the save function. The conversion does not occur until the time is submitted. I would be helpful if it converted when stopping the timer.

  13. Client Follow Ups to Show Up on My Engagements Tab

    It would be helpful if a client note marked for followup, given a due date and assigned to a staff member, show up on their My Engagements tab as a new engagement. The Follow Up button located in the upper right hand corner is not as visible as it would be if it were on the My Engagements tab.

  14. several issues with time and billing

    Here are several of the issues we have with time and billing in IPM and QBs:
    1. Cannot modify invoices printed from the web (letterhead/formating)
    2. Cannot submit individual time slips; must submit entire time sheet
    3. Invoices do not carry previous balances; must use statements
    4. Cannot memorize monthly fixed billing fees for invoices
    5. Cannot add clients through IPM; must use QBs
    6. Notes entered through IPM do not carry over to the QBs bill detail easily.
    7. Rounding up invoice amounts (each individual work description) to avoid “cents” appearing. (Round up in $5 increments i.e. 10, 15,…

  15. Additional CRM features

    Some more CRM features such as tracking prospects and then tracking follow up and finally if we will get to convert the prospect as a client or if this prospect is lost.

  16. Calendar view - eng list

    Engagement list should also be listed in a calendar view so we can see a full calendar and the engs due within the month or week, etc. Similar to an outlook calendar but it would list all the engagements.

  18. Easy to switch Demo Mode for Teaching new preparers!

    With other software there usually is a check box to mark when you want the return to be marked as a demo/sample/practice return. This is very helpful when learning programs and teaching new preparers. It could be a check box next to the e-file check box within the general client information, just so that it can never be filed on accident.

  19. Add a partner to each Engagement

    Would like to be able to assign both a Staff Preparer and Partner to the same engagement and have it listed under the engagement section. Also, would like "Partner" to be an option to choose under reports.

  20. Is IPM going to allow us to use Client Numbers instead of Names

    We would really like to use Client Numbers as the unique identifier rather than Client names. Does Intuit plan on giving us this option in IPM soon?
